J.D. Shaw
pastor
J.D. was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, attended Mississippi State University (where he met his wife, Mimi), then attended law school at Ole Miss. After practicing law in Jackson for two years, he sensed God’s call to ministry. He earned a M.Div. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to moving to Oxford in April 2011, J.D. served as the pastor of two churches – one in Louisiana and another in Mississippi. J.D. and Mimi have four children: Wilson, Annie, Zoe, and James.

C.J. Moore
ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Missions, Discipleship, and Operations
C.J. was born in Grenada, Mississippi and attended Mississippi State University where he met his wife, Cassandra. He later earned an M.Div. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and is nearly done with a Ph.D. from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also serves as an Adjunct Professor. Prior to serving at Grace, C.J. served in student- and campus-based student ministry in Mississippi for nearly six years and then as a pastor at Liberty Baptist Church in the Kansas City area for three years. He’s also served in seminary administration and as a mid-term missionary in East Asia with the International Mission Board. He and Cassandra have three children: Jemma, Luke, and Lottie.

Jared Smith
ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Worship and Facilities
Jared was raised in Bogue Chitto, MS and later moved to Jackson, MS after college to embark on a journey in ministry and music. He has spent 5 years being both a worship pastor and traveling with his band. During this time he has successfully produced and finished two projects of original songs that enlighten scripture and give a new edge to Christian music. In May of 2013, he married his high school sweetheart, Brittany.

Skyler Flowers
ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Youth Ministry, College Ministry, and Adult Education
Skyler was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and attended the University of Mississippi. Skyler earned an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL, where he served as the Director of Student Ministries at Orlando Grace Church. His wife, Brianna, is originally from Memphis, TN, and they have two children: Beatrice and Lewis. Skyler also serves on the Rooted Steering Committee and contributes to the As in Heaven podcast.

Sydney Gunner
Ministry and office coordinator
Though Sydney grew up in Florida, she moved to Mississippi several years ago to attend Ole Miss and has lived here ever since. She graduated with a degree in Social Work and currently attends Reformed Theological Seminary, where she is completing her Master of Arts in Theological Studies. Prior to joining Grace’s staff, Sydney served in campus ministry at Ole Miss for a number of years, most recently with Campus Outreach. She’s been married to her husband, Stuart, since 2021. Stuart still serves on the staff of Campus Outreach at Ole Miss, a ministry that Sydney still loves to take part in. She is looking forward to continuing to serve Oxford and Ole Miss by making Jesus known through the ministry of Grace Bible Church.
Lauren Shinault
Children’s ministry assistant
Lauren, a grateful follower of Jesus Christ, feels blessed to have joined the church staff in August 2021 as Children’s Ministry Assistant, a position that gives her the perfect opportunity to combine her lifelong love for teaching children and her desire to serve her Lord and Savior. A native of Batesville, Mississippi, Lauren got her Child Development Associate Degree from Arkansas State University and then taught pre-kindergarten for seven years before choosing to homeschool her own five children. Lauren loves baking, creating art, and learning new things through reading — activities she’s eager to share with the children of Grace Bible Church.
Kim Spillers
Maintenance
Kim is originally from Brighton, TN and attended school at Ole Miss. She returned to Oxford in 1996 where she enjoyed a career serving her community as a registered nurse for more than 20 years. She has been helping keep Grace’s offices and facilities clean and tidy since 2007.
Grace Doody
MINISTRY intern
Grace is from Michigan but choose to move to Oxford a few years ago to attend Ole Miss, where she is still pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree. She was baptized at Grace in 2022 and started serving as a Ministry Intern in the fall of 2023. Grace helps our church in many ways but primarily serves in our student ministry.
Colin Keys
MINISTRY intern
Colin is from Grenada, MS and came to Oxford a few years ago to attend Ole Miss, where he is still a student. He became a member and started serving as a Ministry Intern in the fall of 2023. He serves in both student and worship ministry at Grace. Colin is also involved with the Baptist Student Union at Ole Miss, where he serves on the worship team and has had the opportunity to serve with many different mission teams around the world.
